It's pretty much standard for any forum to have a palce to stuff character backgroudns for those who want to plant them somewhere, so I made it...
...With a slight twist. Everyone should seriously consider about posting his or her character's ambitions here so that we can cooperate together to realize them all. If So-and-so wants to be this-or-that rank of this-or-that academy we should make it a House affair to get them there(If of course it is agreeable to the House). This area is completely OOC and NO metagaming will occur from it. Ambitions will need to be stated IG if you want help with them, but putting them here will allow us to roll them over as a group. Maybe someone else in the house, for example, knows a connection that can help so-and-so obtain whatever rank they wanted =P Of course this is all completely optional.
(I'm not exactly the voice of authority here so Tristan, if you want to axe the idea or consent to it go ahead =P I'm open to both)

Well, for Morgraine, I introduced her the day she arrived at Szith to Ilharess Talice Mor'ali and the Yath'taller of Szith.
She was called Sebali the first day, and several called her pale skins.
She introduced herself as a single parent child, raised by her father. She arrived from the mainland of Faerun to Elben Aator on a ship with her parents. During a lightning storm, her mother was lost at sea and even her father's high arcane magic and magic bow couldn't save her mother.
(how should I adapt this to change to Dev'Lin heritage?)
Later on, her father taught her arcane magic since he saw her to have the apetitude for transforming and destroying toys. He taught her some basic level 1 arcane spells and he found her quite enjoyable with it and was transforming herself. He thought may be she needs to be trained some discipline as well so he taught her archery and how to focus and concentrate.
She later on attended the sociere academy and her first class was magical crafting and 2nd class was shadow planar travel. Those interested her very much. She plans to become a master shadow transmuster (2F/1SD/17Wiz/10EK) and has already taken the craft magic arms and armor feat and has taken 7 ranks in craft weapons, armor and alchemy. She also has a glove of the artificer.

Mordain is also a crafter. As availability changes for everyone a new crafter will always be needed to assist in the House. It could also be applied to her background. Solaufein is going to be a master at Sorcere when we get things up and running so it will make sense that he would have recognized her talents there and taken her under House Dev'Lin's banner and an apprentice to his crafting work. Background story works fine with me if it works fine with you

Thought maybe some basic House relationship knowledge might benefit everyone.
Beatrix Dev'Lin gave birth to eight daughters. Each of them once ruled as her Empress', most have been replaced by other more worthy candidates. Of her daughters Aunrae was one of the most powerful. The great drow city of Szith was one of her most promising Houses and her daughter Ashian'darra ruled well. Too well unbeknown to Aunrae Ashian'darra and her brothers plotted the Empress' demise. Their success has resulted in Danifae rising to the title of Ilharess in Szith, Ashian'darra has taken her place among the eight empress' of House Dev'Lin.
Danifae Dev'Lin comes to Szith from her home in the Che'el d'Chath, the City of Fire. She and her daughters have been raised under the guidance of Beatrix Dev'Lin herself in the city of the Houses origin. Her daughters; Bela'cyla, Ryl'yaen and Nania are joined by their brother Te'fein. The task to gaining Lolth's favor has fallen upon them.

| Korvelas is the only son of Coronel Be'dwa. During Coronel's prime, he had finally made an image of himself in Menzoberranzan after Jarlaxle's disappearance by ousting his older brother as the new leader of the mercenary band. Afterwards, a house supportive of his brother attacked the mercenary group at their weakest when they were betrayed from within by a female informant favorable to Coronel. The war ended in Coronel's favor and the informant stayed as Coronel's right hand and more. The informant by the name of Vierna was a half dragon though hid it well, but her secret revealed itself with the birth of Korvelas. When the ruling houses of Menzoberranzan demanded the head of Coronel however, he was forced to go into hiding and secretly gave his son to House Del'Armgo who was one of the few supportive houses to the renegade. Korvelas is a sadist, brutal, ill tempered but efficient. He is a natural born killer. |

Raye'Kan Dev'Lin predates the present leadership (as well as the guild leadership set before that lol) of house Dev'Lin. To my knowledge, there were at least two generations of Dev'Lin prior to Raye'Kan's induction. (Placing this leadership as the 5th generation?)
A while back, Raye began sneaking into the previous House Mage's study (a professed 'Shaodw Mage') and began stealing knowledge from his arcane texts regarding the Plane of Shadow.
Unfortunately for Raye, he was not ready for the information. He mistakenly opened a portal to Shadow, and was sucked in with the contents of the library. A considerable time later, Raye'Kan was able to return to Szith and the Prime Material Plane, though changed. Changed with negative side effects.
For many months (real time) Raye'Kan Dev'Lin has been becoming more and more a creature of Shadow. The transformation often being uncontrolled, with the very essence of his flesh if not entire body slipping into and out of the Plane of Shadow at random. His personality has also been changed, becoming more distant and neutral regarding the affairs of others.
It seems that only recently Raye'Kan has gained control of his shifting Shadow-Stuff flesh. Raye'Kan Dev'Lin is a shade.
Raye'Kan Dev'Lin was appointed the position of Qu'el'faeruk d'Dev'Lin by the leadership of the fourth generation (Solaufein). I suppose we will see what happens with the Dev'Lin new leadership and Ilharess . . .

Just so that you know Raye I'm still running things for the House but Danifae is the IC leader of the House so that we can become more involved in the politics of the city. Really nice addition my friend Its good to see you getting some time to join us.
