I was wondering if some sort of RP event could be set up(in house)to help lower level characters like myself. Some sort of hunt, it could serve 2 purposes, 1 of course would be to aid in the leveling of lower level characters, and 2 it would help newer members of Dev'Lin get to know others and better understand Drow RPing. This could be set up as some sort of monthly/bi-weekly/weekly thing. Some sort of mass hunt to clear caves and offer sacrifices to Lloth. Lead, of course, by senior members of House Dev'Lin. Curious on thoughts and opinions.

Thanks,
Gar

I know vilmiathein Mori' IRL and I know one of the things she wants to discuss during the council meetings is small player driven events between the houses. This may be very similiar to what your asking about. I am sure we could arrange several small events for just house dev'lin members. I personally have no problem making a surfacer alt to be kidnapped and sacrificed Smile And actually I already have a half drow just for this purpose Smile

Another good idea to help level is to reach out to other drow within the house and outside of the house in tells checking 00C if they are within your level range (your level +5). I'm willing to bet several of us have other characters within your level range. In addition, cross house grouping is encouraged to help build positive RP relationships throughout Szith.

And should you send a tell to someone outside the house who responds negatively, just take a moment to note their account down for future reference. It's not worth sending an unpleasant tell back. Just avoid dealing with that specific player if they have some sort of issues regarding supporting a new drow player in Szith or that fact that you are new and in Dev'Lin.

For more information on the basics of drow RP, the main Szith forum has tons of fun stuff to read. Take some time to check it out =)

I have no problem reaching out to others, and to RP outside of the House. Just thought it might bring a little House Closeness.

My vision for everyone in the House is to contact the other members of Dev'Lin when you log on. I do this each and every time I log in. I say hi to each and every one of you to see how things are going. I think this is one of the things that makes Dev'Lin so attractive to so many people. We are a family and we act like it. There are any problems we resolve them as quickly and quietly as possible. We are not interested in having problem players or ongoing disputes.

As things continue to become more organized and players learn their roles in the House we will have more organized meetings, patrols and rituals. Things are coming together nicely at the moment and I am going to begin to pass responsibilities to other players for certain groups of players. Gar for instance... you will be turning to K'yorl and Raye'kan for assistance. They will be leading the wizards of the House. Bela will be leading the clergy of course and Korvelas has the responsibilities of warriors and rogues. They don't know it yet because I haven't told them Wink But they will soon.

Keep these types of discussions going. Its good to help everyone in anyway that you can.

I agree 100% with you. It is a very friendly atmosphere. I also try to send a private "hi" message to every Dev'Lin that is on when I am. I wish they had some sort of private channel just for house members. Would make it a bit easier. Kind of like the party chat, except exclusively for House/clan members. Just wish the damned server was up. lol

Well if everyone got xfire we could start chat rooms. xfire is great its a messenger like msn but its for gamers with the great feature of voice/text chat rooms and allowing you to message while in game. No having to minimize to answer a message etc.

Other cool features is that it lets ya start clans and gives ya some free basic features. it lets ya know what games your friends are playing and allows you to join the server they are in. Has screen and video capture in game.... whole bunch of things. I would suggest checking it out if you didn't install it when prompted by the nwn2 install.

If anyone has it or gets it my name on it is BladeChill
